Word On The Street - Project Update 5.20.20
This weeks word - RAIN. The rain has created some pothole issues, and they are doing what they can to patch those areas of concern. Even though the Drahner intersection had considerable rain, the crews were still able to get all of the stone in place and they are grading for curb tomorrow and Friday. The week after Memorial Day they will be putting in curb and should have the first lift of paving in by the end of the week.
Glaspie Rd. is still in need of some additional signage and road striping, and it will get completed prior to the main detour going into effect. If all goes well, and there aren't weather delays or other unforeseen events, the next phase of the project will be starting around June 3rd. At that time they will begin working on the west Drahner intersection and begin moving north on the east side of M-24.
Light pole removal is nearly complete. There were three light poles that were too deteriorated to be restored, but the Village has some on hand that will be used in their place.
The videoing for the vibration monitoring has been completed, and the equipment is in place. They are taking baseline measurements currently.
Consumers is finally able to complete the tie-ins for the work north of Burdick St. They will begin that work next Tuesday, May 26th.
Just a reminder to please drive safely, abide traffic rules, keep workers safe, follow posted detour routes and refrain from using neighborhood side streets. Thank you for your continued patience. We are all in this together. #OxfordStrong
