Word On The Street - Project Update 5.27.20
It's a quick wrap up for this week's Word on the Street. Things are going well at the Drahner intersection - curb is in place and curing, video inspection of the storm sewer work, and they are fine grading in preparation for the installation of pavement beginning Saturday. They will base and level Monday and Tuesday of next week. In preparation for the main detour, some additional signage and road striping on Glaspie needs to be completed.
Wednesday, June 3rd is the expected date for Stage 2A & 2B to begin which means the main detour route will go into effect. They will begin working on the west Drahner intersection and begin moving north on the east side of M-24.
Light pole removal is now complete and the poles are being sandblasted and restored for re-installation. There were a few light poles that were too deteriorated to be restored, but the Village has some on hand that will be used in their place.
The videoing for the vibration monitoring has been completed, and the equipment is in place. They are taking baseline measurements currently.
Consumers is currently working on completion of the tie-ins for the work north of Burdick St. Their work will take about a week and a half.
Just a reminder to please drive safely, abide traffic rules, keep workers safe, follow posted detour routes and refrain from using neighborhood side streets. Thank you for your continued patience. We are all in this together. #OxfordStrong
