Word On The Street - Project Update 6.17.20

We're Down to Dirt Again!

Two more weeks is the expected timeline for the W. Drahner intersection to be closed. The stone is now mostly in place, they are starting to grade, and the curb work is starting next Monday. The following week (June 29-July 3) the first and second lift of new pavement will be installed, and the intersection will reopen.

Pavement milling and removal is also advancing along M-24 in the northbound lanes. All special areas for pavement removal have been saw cut, and they will continue to remove pavement in those areas.

Expect some temporary side street closures when crews are working in those intersections. The contractors goal is to have those intersections functioning at the close of each work day.

We have requested a heads up from MDOT and the Contractor for when specific side streets will be affected.

An MDOT representative completed their Work Zone Review to ensure that signage is completely in place, and they have made adjustments as needed.

It's construction business up front, but there's a party out back! Here are the best ways to get to the businesses you love in Oxford and the rear parking lots.

Any questions you have about the project can be submitted here.

As always, remember to please drive safely, abide traffic rules, keep workers safe, follow posted detour routes and refrain from using neighborhood side streets. Thank you for your continued patience. We are all in this together. #OxfordStrong
