Word On The Street - Project Update 6.3.20
Houston we are all systems go!
Today is the day! The traffic shift is currently underway, and by this afternoon M-24 will be one lane only in the southbound direction and northbound traffic will be detoured to Glaspie St.
Work will begin at the West Drahner intersection at this time and will last approximately four weeks. They will start with milling and removal of pavement, and storm sewer and water main work. At the same time they will also start the milling and removal of the northbound M-24 lanes.
There have been some traffic light issues at East St. and Glaspie St., and that is being addressed today. This traffic signal was put in place for the fire department.
The vibration monitoring equipment is currently taking baseline measurements in town. Some businesses have yet to be video taped, and we will be provided with a listing of buildings that have not yet been visited. If you have not been contacted to have your video monitoring done, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get that set up. Provide your address and best contact information. A listing of business addresses can be found here.
Just a reminder to business owners, video your own property and secure or take down anything that could potentially break from the vibrations.
Consumers is still working on completion of the tie-ins for the work north of Burdick St., and they should have that wrapped up soon.
Just a reminder to please drive safely, abide traffic rules, keep workers safe, follow posted detour routes and refrain from using neighborhood side streets. Thank you for your continued patience. We are all in this together. #OxfordStrong
