Word On The Street - Project Update 9.2.20
At the south end of the project sidewalks and seed is down, and at the north end of the project they are halfway through pouring the sidewalks in Downtown. They really look good!
Please, please, please, PLEASE stay off of the sidewalks until the barricades and caution tape have been removed. Footprints and tire tracks in the freshly installed cement will cause delays in the project as it will have to be removed and replaced.
The decorative brickwork is also currently being installed. And check out those lamp posts! They have been refurbished, are in place, and hopefully you noticed we have more then we did before. The structural soil for our new tress is starting to go into the planting beds now too. Seeing all these little details and finishing touches really is exciting.
On Saturday (9/28), the new traffic shift went into effect, and they are now working at the south end of the project once again. They will be digging, and digging - moving in a northbound direction. During this portion of the project they will be running a Township sewer service line, and they will be digging even deeper this time. Even though there has been a traffic shift, the flow of traffic is still being routed the same. If you are having trouble getting to your favorite Oxford businesses, here is a map to help you find your way.
That is all for this week's Word On The Street. If you have questions about the project, they can be submitted here.
As always, remember to please drive safely, abide traffic rules, keep workers safe, follow posted detour routes and refrain from using neighborhood side streets. Thank you for your continued patience.
